WASHINGTON–The Obama re-election campaign hit a big metric on Monday afternoon, one million donors. That translates into dollars and into a valuable organizing data bank. As of Sept. 30, team Obama had $60 million cash-on-hand.

Meanwhile, the GOP White House contenders are scrambling, according to new third quarter reports:

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich scrapped together $807,962 in the third quarter. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney collected $14.2 million. Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who started in the third quarter, took in $17.2 million.
