To promote the upcoming opening weekend of “Metallica Through the Never,” members of the iconic rock band are traveling around the country — attending special screenings between Sept. 26-28.

In this area, Metallica’s lead guitarist Kirk Hammett will first greet fans at a 10 p.m. Thursday screening at the AMC Milwaukee — and then hop down to the AMC Woodfield in Schaumburg for a 12:15 a.m. screening in the wee hours of Friday morning.

“Metallica Through the Never” recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and stars the band members and actor Dane DeHaan in a music-driven 3D film event directed by Nimrod Antal, and co-written by Antal with Metallica’s Hammett, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo.
