(WAUKEGAN) Two police officers were injured early Wednesday when they responded to a call of a couple fighting in north suburban Waukegan.

Two officers responded to a call of a couple fighting and throwing things at each other about 1:50 a.m., and found Brian Hall, 28, and Leporsha Doby, 29, arguing at their home in the 300 block of Franklin Street, according to a statement from Waukegan police.

Almost immediately, those officers requested “all available units” to respond and eventually 16 police officers responded to the scene, the statement said.

One officer suffered a large contusion to the head and another officer suffered a concussion, several lacerations to the face and an eye irritation, police said.

Hall was charged with three counts of resisting a police officer, three counts of aggravated battery to a police officer, four counts of unlawful possession of various controlled substances, five counts of unlawful possession of various controlled substances with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Doby was charged with resisting a police officer, police said.

Hall was ordered held on $250,000 bond and is next scheduled to appear in court May 14. Doby was ordered held on $50,000 bond and is next scheduled to appear at the Waukegan courthouse April 23.
