Man shot on Southwest Side

A man was shot Wednesday morning in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The shooting happened at 8:51 a.m. in the 8200 block of South Kedzie Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

The 26-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to the thigh and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in “stable” condition, Estrada said.

Police said the shooting may be gang-related.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
