Man shot in Roseland

A man was shot Wednesday morning in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The 21-year-old was standing on a porch in the 200 block of West 113th Street about 11:40 a.m. when a car drove by and someone inside fired shots, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said. The vehicle sped off after the shooting.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and a graze wound to the left ankle, Zala said.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious but “stable” condition, Zala said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
