Two people were shot in separate incidents on the Kennedy and Dan Ryan expressways early Sunday.
The first shooting happened about 1 a.m. on the Kennedy Expressway on the West Side, Illinois State Police said. A male — whose age was not immediately known — was in a red Ford Mustang that was heading northbound on I-90 when he was shot near the Fullerton exit ramp, police said.
That person was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said, but his condition was not available.
About two hours later, at 3 a.m., another person was shot on the Dan Ryan Expressway on the South Side.
A man — whose age was not immediately known — was in a vehicle traveling southbound when he was shot near the 79th Street exit, police said.
He was taken to Christ Medical Center, but his condition was not known.
Lanes were closed for several hours as officials investigated the shootings, but all have since reopened, police said.
