An elderly man and woman were killed in a crash in the southwest suburbs on Sunday afternoon.

An 80-year-old man and an 85-year-old woman were pronounced dead after the two-vehicle crash in the 9700 block of South Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview, according to Roberts Park Fire Protection District officials and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The man, identified Monday as Francis J. Iglinski of the 4500 block of South Wallace in Chicago, was pronounced dead at 5:20 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

The woman was identified as 85-year-old Dolores M. Weber of the 2700 block of South Emerald in Chicago, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Six people were taken to hospitals after the accident, but it wasn’t immediately clear whether the deceased were among those transported, authorities said.

Bridgeview police declined to release further details Monday morning.

Harlem Avenue was closed to traffic until 8 p.m. as crews cleared the scene, police said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
