Two people were found dead Thursday afternoon at a Motel 6 in northwest suburban Arlington Heights, police said.

Officers were called about 1 p.m. Thursday to the hotel at 441 W. Algonquin Rd. and found two adults dead in their hotel room, according to a statement from Arlington Heights police.

Police would not confirm reports that the bodies were that of a man and a woman, and further details were not released as of Thursday evening.

Arlington Heights police and the Major Case Assistance Team are handling the investigation.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
