A 19-year-old man was injured when a car crashed into a building early Friday in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The car crashed into a consignment store at 501 E. 47th Street just after 2 a.m, destroying one of the store’s front windows, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said. The store was empty when it was hit, and no one else was injured.

Details about the circumstances of the accident were not immediately available. The police Major Accident Investigation unit is handling the case.
