Biking to the next big Chicago event or concert just got a whole lot easier this summer. Divvy is expanding its valet service so customers can dodge traffic and avoid parking hassles during events like Cubs games, Pride Fest and Lollapalooza.

Valet service guarantees Divvy riders an available dock to drop off their bicycles in a place serving a large number of people.

“We’re expanding our valet service for summer 2016 because it allows Divvy riders to plan trips to large-scale events with confidence, knowing that they will have a guaranteed drop-off for their Divvy bike when they arrive,” general manager Elliot Greenberger said in a news release. “Our busiest days coincide with citywide events and festivals, and this helps us make Divvy as enjoyable as the destination itself.”

Divvy Valet Service user Roger Liew said the expanded summer services are a great idea because it gives riders one less thing to worry about.

“When people are all going to the same place, it’s nice to have a guarantee that there will be space available,” Liew said.

“I use the valet service almost every day at the Merchandise Mart. It’s great not having to think about whether there’s room at the dock when I show up on my Divvy for work. The valet at the Mart is also super friendly.”

The valet service was set up in 2014 and is available at select stations on weekdays and during popular summertime events and holidays. Divvy valets remove bikes to open up docks for incoming riders when a hotspot becomes full. The valet service requires no extra charge and no extra steps for the rider.
