Authorities have identified a man who was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head Sunday morning in the Golden Gate neighborhood on the Far South Side.

Arthur J. Smith, 36, was found at 6:04 a.m. in a vehicle in the 13200 block of South Riverdale, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. Smith, who lived in the Far South Side Morgan Park neighborhood, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:14 a.m.

An autopsy Monday found Smith died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
