A man was shot to death Tuesday morning in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired at 8:32 a.m. found 35-year-old Carnell Oliver with gunshot wounds in the 700 block of North Springfield, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Oliver, who lived in West Humboldt Park, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:56 a.m., authorities said.

Area North detectives were investigating.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
