A 40-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting Saturday morning in the Calumet Heights neighborhood on the South Side.

The man was walking out of a house about 8:15 a.m. in the 9300 block of South Paxton when someone in a white SUV fired shots, striking him in his groin, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, police said.

Area South detectives are investigating.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
