A man and woman were both left in critical condition after they were shot in West Englewood Friday night.

About 9:35 p.m., the two got into an argument with another male in the 6800 block of South Ashland, police said. The other male eventually pulled out a gun and shot them.

The man, 21, was shot several times and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. The woman, 19, was shot in the back and taken to Stroger Hospital. Both were in critical condition.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
