Police are looking for a man who has been missing from the South Shore neighborhood for more than a week.

Jimmy Earl Meekins, 59, was last seen Oct. 4 near 75th and Stony Island Avenue, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police. Meekins, who lives in New Jersey, was in Chicago to visit Mosque Maryam.

Meekins is described as a 6-foot-3, 190-pound black man with brown eyes, grayish hair and light complexion, police said. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, True Religion jeans and black boots.

Anyone who sees him should call 911 or the Area South Special Victims Unit at (312) 747-8274.
