A man was seriously wounded in a shooting Wednesday morning in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 30-year-old was in the 4700 block of North Whipple about 8:45 a.m. when someone walked up to him and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the cheek and taken in serious condition to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
