An 18-year-old man was shot in the face Monday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.

At 1:36 p.m., he was standing outside in the 2600 block of East 75th Street when a male walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

The victim was shot in the face, groin and side and taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.

He is a documented gang member, according to police.
