A teenager was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
About 4 p.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired and found 17-year-old Ke’Nichi Sims shot in the body and head in a vacant lot in the 7100 block of South Eggleston, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Esims, of Grand Crossing, was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died, authorities said.
Area South detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
