A 22-year-old man was shot to death Friday afternoon in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

Ian Ashford was in a vehicle about 2:10 p.m. in the 4600 block of North Central Park Avenue when someone on foot fired at him, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Ashford was shot in the chest and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:37 p.m, police and the medical examiner’s office said.

Area North detectives were investigating.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
