Two shot in Back of the Yards

A man and a woman were shot Wednesday afternoon in the South Side Back of the Yards neighborhood.

The 19-year-old woman and 20-year-old man were talking in the street about 12:45 p.m. at 51st and Wolcott when they heard shots and realized they’d been hit, according to Chicago Police.

The woman was shot in the leg and taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital, police said. The man was shot in the buttocks and taken to Holy Cross Hospital. He was later transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
