A woman was shot to death early Sunday in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired at 12:24 a.m. and found 27-year-old Demica Porter lying on the sidewalk in the 1400 block of West 54th Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Porter had been shot in the neck and legs and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she died at 1:13 a.m., authorities said. She lived in the same neighborhood as the shooting.

No one was in custody early Sunday as Area Central detectives investigated.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
