President Barack Obama has a packed Monday, landing in The Netherlands in the morning and heading to the Rijksmuseum for a tour and a meeting with Prime Minister of The Netherlands Mark Rutte. After that, a series of other meetings: at The Hague with President Xi Jinping of China (who greeted First Lady Michelle Obama, Sasha and Malia in Bejing two days ago) with other leaders at the Nuclear Security Summit and the G-7 leaders to discuss the Ukraine situation. In the evening, a working dinner with King Willem-Alexander of The Netherlands. Below, from the White House….

DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

MONDAY, MARCH 24, 2014

In the morning, the President will arrive in The Netherlands. The arrival at Schiphol International Airport is open press.

Later in the morning, the President will visit the Rijksmuseum where he will receive a tour and then hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Rutte of the Netherlands. After the bilateral meeting, the President and Prime Minister will deliver statements. There will be pre-set pool coverage of the arrival, pooled press coverage of the tour and statements, and the bilateral meeting is closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will hold a bilateral meeting with President Xi Jinping of China. There will be a pool spray at the top of the meeting with statements at the United States Ambassador’s residence in The Hague.

Later in the afternoon, the President will arrive at the World Forum at The Hague to participate in the Nuclear Security Summit. There will be limited pre-set pool coverage of the arrival.

The President will then attend the opening session of the Nuclear Security Summit. There will be a limited pre-set pool spray of the opening session.

Afterward, the President will participate in a plenary discussion as well as a scenario-based policy discussion at the Nuclear Security Summit. These events are both closed press.

In the evening, the President will attend a G-7 leaders meeting on the situation in Ukraine at Catshuis, the official residence of the Prime Minister. There will be a limited international pool spray at the top of this meeting.

At night, the President will visit the Dutch Royal Palace where he will participate in a reception and family photo before attending a working dinner with King Willem-Alexander of The Netherlands. These events are closed press while there will be limited pre-set pool coverage of the arrival.

The President will remain overnight in The Netherlands.
