SHARE HHS secretary: 6.4 million sign up for Obamacare

Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell announced Tuesday morning that 6.4 million people have enrolled in insurance plans for 2015 under Obamacare.

During a news conference, Burwell said there were approximately 1.9 million new customers, with 4.5 million coming from re-enrollments.

With the HealthCare.gov website running much better this year, the administration has set a goal of 9.1 million customers signed up and paying premiums in 2015.

Open enrollment ends Feb. 15.
