Poll performance: Comparing the polls to Tuesday’s results

Of the most recent polls on the Illinois Governor’s race, none of them had Bruce Rauner gaining more than 50 percent of the vote (he gained 51 percent). The same trend is true for the Senate race: With 53 percent of the vote, Dick Durbin outperformed the closest poll by a full percentage point.
