Woman shot to death after argument in Englewood

A male suspect followed the 26-year-old woman to a vehicle after an argument and fired shots at her in the 7500 block of South Emerald Avenue, authorities said.

A 26-year-old woman was killed in a shooting Sunday in Englewood on the South Side.

A male suspect followed the woman to a vehicle after an argument and fired shots at her about 4:20 a.m. in the 7500 block of South Emerald Avenue, according to Chicago police.

Rodjzae Funches-Heard, of Bellwood, was shot in the chest and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

No one is in custody as Area Two detectives conduct a homicide investigation.
