A 17-year-old boy was shot Thursday afternoon in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

About 5:30 p.m., someone shot at him from the backseat of a newer-model, gray or silver Infiniti as it drove by him in the first block of North Leclaire Avenue, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered a gunshot wound to his left knee and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
