A 25-year-old man was shot Monday evening in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

About 6:20 p.m., he was walking in an alley in the 6500 block of South Maplewood when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Chicago Police said.

He was struck in his groin, and drove himself to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
