A 78-year-old Bartlett woman died Wednesday, more than two months after she was involved in a crash in west suburban Campton Hills.
Hazel R. Harris of the 100 block of 11th Avenue in Bartlett was pronounced dead at 1:23 p.m. Wednesday at RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Harris was involved in a crash on March 2 in the 8N500 block of Woodbridge Lane in Campton Hills, according to the medical examiner’s office.
The single-vehicle crash happened about 6:40 a.m., , according to a spokesman for the Campton Hills Police Dept. Harris was a passenger in a car being driven by her husband that left the roadway, struck a mailbox, ran over a driveway and hit a tree.
The driver was not injured and no citations have been issued. There was no indication that alcohol was involved in the crash, according to police.
An autopsy found Harris died of complications of blunt-force injuries from a motor vehicle striking a fixed object, according to the medical examiner’s office. Heart disease and other medical conditions were listed as contributing factors, and her death was ruled an accident.
