Boy, 17, shot in South Shore

A 17-year-old boy was shot Wednesday evening in the South Shore neighborhood on the South Side.

He suffered multiple gunshot wounds about 9:15 p.m. in the 7400 block of South Chappel Avenue, Chicago Police said. Information about the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, police said.
