The FBI re-issued a plea for information Wednesday about the whereabouts of Tyrone Smith, who is wanted for a murder last year in south suburban Dolton and is believed to be in the Chicago area.
Smith, 24, who had a last known address in Chicago, is charged with first-degree murder, according to the FBI. An arrest warrant was issued Oct. 30, 2015. Smith goes by several aliases, including “King Bo,” Tyrone J. Smith Jr., and Tyrone T.Q. Smith.
The FBI has new information and believes Smith is in the Chicago area, spokesman Garrett Croon said. The agency first issued a plea for information in March.
He is wanted for the shooting death of 39-year-old Tyrone D. Smith on Oct. 25, 2015, in the 14100 block of South Chicago Road in Dolton, authorities said. Smith, of the 6200 block of South Artesian, was pronounced dead at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Hammond, Ind., at 3:37 a.m., authorities said.
A law enforcement source said the two men are not related, despite sharing the same name.
The wanted Smith is described as a 5-foot-9 to 6-foot-2 black man, 140-200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He should be considered armed and dangerous, according to the FBI.
The FBI is offering a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to his arrest. Anyone with information should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
