A southwest suburban man was killed when his SUV struck a tree Monday night in downstate Kankakee.

Gregory J. Gramm, 56, was driving a Chevy Trailblazer eastbound on Route 113 near 4000 West Road at 6:48 p.m. when he lost control and the SUV struck a tree, according to Illinois State Police.

Gramm, of Joliet, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
