A 15-year-old boy was shot late Saturday in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

He was riding as a passenger in a car about 11:25 p.m. when it stopped at a traffic light in the 4700 block of South Ashland and a man on foot fired at the vehicle, according to Chicago Police.

The teenager was shot in the back and taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition, police said.
