A 64-year-old man died Friday evening after an earlier crash in south suburban Calumet City.

Jimmie Jacobs was driving a motorcycle about 6:10 p.m. in the 1600 block of Sibley Boulevard when the motorcycle crashed into another vehicle, according to Calumet City police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Jacobs was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 6:52 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 4300 block of Ash Avenue in Hammond, Indiana.

An autopsy Sunday found that he died from multiple injuries suffered during the accident, according to the medical examiner’s office.

No one else was injured in the crash.
