A 40-year-old man showed up at a hospital after being shot late Friday in northwest suburban Elgin.
He walked into Saint Jospeph Hospital shortly before 11 p.m with a “superficial” gunshot wound that wasn’t considered life-threatening, according to a statement from Elgin police.
The man told detectives someone else shot him, but police did not specify where the attack might have happened. He was later released from the hospital.
