A 19-year-old man was seriously wounded in a shooting early Saturday in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the South Side.

At 2:53 a.m., the man was walking outside in the 2200 block of West 19th Street when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police. He had been shot in the back.

The man was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
