A man was shot and seriously wounded early Sunday in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

About 3:40 a.m., the 23-year-old was a passenger in a vehicle stopped at a traffic light in the 3000 block of West Roosevelt when another vehicle passed by and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
