Officers were called about shots fired in the 14900 block of Irving Avenue in Dolton about 7:30 p.m., according to Dolton Police Chief Robert M. Collins Jr.

They arrived to find 26-year-old Jarrah Alexander unresponsive with a gunshot wound in the front lawn of a home, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was taken to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, where he was pronounced dead at 9:54 p.m.
