Metra to test real-time information screens at stations

Screens providing real-time information to travelers will be installed at Metra stations in Chicago and the suburbs through 2017. | Metra

Metra has picked three downtown stations and and 22 in the suburbs to test outdoor, high-definition screens to give commuters with real-time information on train arrivals, service alerts, weather and emergencies.

Downtown, the 55-inch screens will be at the Ogilvie Transportation Center, the LaSalle Street Station and the Millennium Station.

Installation won’t be finished until next year, according to Metra.
