A southwest suburban man has been charged with failing to register as a sex offender.

Kendall County sheriff’s deputies conducted an address verification on registered sex offender 27-year-old David Eichelberger on June 13, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Deputies learned that Eichelberger may be in violation of the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act. He was convicted in DeKalb County of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 13, according to the Illinois Sex Offender website. The victim was nine years old at the time, and Eichelberger was 24.

On Aug. 17, he was charged with one felony count of failure to register as a sex offender, according to the statement. His bond was set at $10,000.

He was arrested in the 8000 block of Fox River Drive in Millbrook on Aug. 30 by the U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Task Force.
