A woman was shot early Tuesday in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The 23-year-old was sitting in a vehicle at 2:24 a.m. in the 5300 block of South Laflin when someone rode up on a bicycle and fired shots into the vehicle, according to Chicago Police.

She suffered gunshot wounds to the arm and leg and later showed up at Provident Hospital, where her condition was stabilized, police said.

A police source said the woman is a documented gang member.
