1. Howard in rut

Running back Jordan Howard hasn’t played enough to hit the so-called rookie wall, but he had his second consecutive bad outing Thursday night against the Packers.

It doesn’t help that the Bears’ offensive line is now reeling because of injuries. Left guard Josh Sitton (ankle) didn’t play, and right guard Kyle Long (arm) left in the second quarter.

But Ka’Deem Carey was the preferred choice at back. For the second game in a row, the offense clicked a bit better with him in. It was noticeable, too. Carey had 10 carries for 48 yards, including a long of 24.

Howard, a fifth-round pick, had seven carries for 22 yards, including a long of 11. He gained 34 yards on 15 rushes against the Jaguars on Sunday.

2. No back Pack

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw a ton because the Packers were essentially playing without a running back. Similar to the Bears, they’ve had their own rash of injuries.

Eddie Lacy requires ankle surgery and was placed on injured reserve. James Starks recently underwent knee surgery and was inactive.

Receiver Ty Montgomery was their leading rusher with 60 yards on nine carries. Receiver Randall Cobb also was involved, gaining 21 yards on five carries.

3. All-day Adams

Injuries forced the Bears to use Tracy Porter, Bryce Callahan, De’Vante Bausby and Jacoby Glenn at cornerback, and they had no answers for receiver Davante Adams.

A second-round pick in 2014, Adams turned in the best game of his career, catching 13 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
