(WOODSTOCK) A northwest suburban man was killed Tuesday night when his motorcycle struck an oncoming car near Woodstock.

Barry T. Rataiczyk, 44, of Crystal Lake was riding south on Doty Road near Woodstock about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday when his bike struck an oncoming car in the opposite lane, according to the McHenry County coroner’s office.

Rataiczyk was taken to Centegra Woodstock Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 7:15 p.m., a statement from the coroner’s office said.

An autopsy on Wednesday found that he died of multiple blunt force injuries to his head and chest, according to the coroner’s office.

The results of toxicology tests are pending.

The McHenry County sheriff’s accident investigation unit and the coroner’s office are investigating.
