(CRYSTAL LAKE) A Wisconsin man was charged Friday with eight counts of sexual assault and abuse in northwest suburban Crystal Lake.

Jeffrey Vesley, 52 of Darien, Wisconsin, was charged with three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, all felonies, according to a statement from Crystal Lake police.

A police investigation revealed Vesley committed multiple criminal sexual acts with two children younger than 13 years old, according to the statement. The victims said the crimes occurred when Vesley lived in the Crystal Lake area between 2003 and 2012.

Vesley was arrested at McHenry County Jail, where he was being held on other charges, police said. His bond was set at $250,000.
