Mount Carmel vs. Lincoln-Way East a Class 7A must-see

SHARE Mount Carmel vs. Lincoln-Way East a Class 7A must-see

Mount Carmel and Lincoln-Way East have played one another just twice, though both meetings were memorable.

In 2008, Jordan Lynch led Mount Carmel to a 34-31 victory in a Class 8A second-round tussle. In 2006, the Caravan went up against a Lincoln-Way East senior class that had never lost a high school game, registering a 44-0 record since its freshman season. Mount Carmel, however, pulled out a 14-12 win in a Class 8A semifinal thriller.

At 1 p.m. Saturday, the Caravan and Griffins will add another chapter to their brief, but storied, history when they meet in a Class 7A quarterfinal.
