Woman shot in Ashburn

A woman was shot while standing on Western Avenue in the Ashburn neighborhood on the South Side Wednesday night.

About 7:21 p.m., the 32-year-old was standing in the 7500 block of South Western when she heard several shots and immediately felt pain, police said. She suffered two gunshot wounds to her left calf.

The woman told police that she believes the shots came from a passing vehicle, but no description was available, police said.

She was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was listed in good condition, police said.
