A clerk was hurt during an attempted robbery Wednesday morning at a 7-11 store in the Loop.

The robbery happened at the store in the 100 block of North Michigan Avenue at 7:08 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

The suspect was armed with a knife or some other cutting instrument, Estrada said.

A store clerk suffered a minor laceration to the head during the robbery but refused medical attention.

The would-be robber ran away without any proceeds, and the investigation is ongoing.
