Mr. Colbert goes to Washington (D.C.)

“Nation, I cannot overstate how huge this is. The size of the hugeness? Large,” Comedy Central’s soon-to-vanish star Stephen Colbert told his audience recently.

“I am so honored to be sitting down with the man who sat down with Bill O’Reilly.”

Colbert was referring to his Monday, Dec. 8 conversation with President Barack Obama that will take place in Washington, D.C., and air at 10:30 p.m. CT. Both men, coincidentally, are Chicago-trained — Colbert (the real guy) in comedy at Second City, iO Theater and Annoyance Theatre, and Obama in politics with guidance from such local political mentors as the late Abner Mikva.

The sold-out event is titled, simply, “Stephen Colbert Presents: Mr. Colbert Goes to Washington D.C. Ya Later, Legislator: Partisan is Such Sweet Sorrow: A Colbert Victory Lap, ‘014.”
