SHARE Police: Intoxicated man shot himself in South Shore

Charges are pending against a man who shot himself Saturday morning in the South Shore neighborhood.

The 30-year-old man shot himself in the upper left leg about 5:20 a.m. in the 6700 of South East End, police said.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition stabilized.

Police added that a firearm was later recovered and that the man was “extremely intoxicated and uncooperative.”
