Hersey 49, Glenbrook North 13

STAR: Hersey quarterback Quinn Orlandi finished 14-for-18 for 195

yards and four touchdowns and ran for another 74 yards and two

touchdowns. Ed Miklasz caught three TDs, two from Orlandi, and David

Jackowski caught two.

MOMENT: After scoring right before the half, the Huskies forced

Glenbrook North to a three-and-out to start the third quarter and

proceeded to add to their advantage with a 10-play scoring drive.

Orlandi’s 7-yard TD pass to Miklasz made it 35-13 with 5:55 to go and

all but knocked out the Spartans.

QUOTE: “We have to be more physical, and we made too many errors. But

they made big plays. They are a solid team on both sides of the ball.”

— Glenbrook North coach Bob Pieper

BREAKDOWN: The Huskies (1-0) also beat the Spartans (0-1) in last

year’s opener before finishing 4-5. But coach Dragan Teonic has Hersey

eyeing its first playoff appearance since 2004.
