WASHINGTON — Labor Day marks the start of campaigns kicking up activity, and Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and his GOP challenger Jim Oberweis are on the stump today.

A new Early and Often exclusive poll shows Durbin at 47.8 percent to Oberweis, a state senator from Sugar Grove, at 40.5 percent, a margin that shows the race may be tighter than thought, reports Sun-Times political writer Natasha Korecki.
